Post-Yuletide greetings from sunny – and occasionally snowy – Devon. Our tour dates with the excellent Hitechjet (www.myspace.com/hitechjet) are finalised. Go to GIGS for the full run-down. If anyone in any of the cities that we're playing is willing to put up four very compliant and sensitive men for the night, we'd be rather grateful. We'll supply the tea-bags and toast. All four of us could, technically, sleep in the van but I predict that February is going to be a mighty cold one.

We've been getting stuck into writing lots of new stuff recently and we're pretty happy with it – but that much-anticipated second album is still a cashless dream right now. Whatever happened to the sympathetic benefactor? So now you've got to come out and see us on tour if you wanna hear those spanking new tunes. No doubt we will release something in some form next year, before summer. Typically, I can't be any more specific than that. We'll be putting up a new song on our myspace site soon as well, probably 'From What Is To What If?'. Go to www.myspace.com/toot and be our friend.

What else is new? Jon got married to Sarah, Andy nearly got decapitated by a tree, I fell off my mountain bike and broke my collar bone, and Neil customised the band van with his dad (respect due!). Now that, my friends, is rock and roll. See you in the New Year. x

Long time no speak. Indeed, things have been a bit slack chez The Once Over Twice of late, so the least we can do is tell you how slack. Well, it's not that bad. Firstly, back in May, we bought a rickety transit van which, alongside other expenses, wiped out our limited funds. Now we're trying to rebuild our finances by playing any and every venue that'll take us. Hence our recent show at the Abbot's Way in Southway – an allegedly 'fighting' pub in the working class suburbs of Plymouth, wherein hard-looking men with lager-flooded blood cells took to us with surprisingly good humour and ceaseless enthusiasm. Thanks to all concerned. It, truly, was a blast. Unlike last night's show at the Palace Theatre, Bridgwater where my amp decided to go to sleep for the night before The Imperial Vipers took extended rock solos and multi-costumed posturing to their illogical extremes.

We've also recorded some new songs – including '6554' and 'From What Is To What If' – at PMC Studios which we intend to release as a single (possibly on In At The Deep End Records). But, alongside our seemingly lifelong ambition to release 'The Adult Crash' as a single, it hasn't happened yet. Dammit.

We're presently writing loads of new stuff (that second album is, virtually, complete) and we're in the process of arranging some tour dates for December 2005 and again for early 2006 (yes, we'll believe it when we see it too), including some possible shows with labelmates, Hitechjet.

So, now that you know that we still exist, you can finally say farewell to those hair-shedding days and sleepless nights. All is well, just rather slow. And keep checking our jam-packed GIG guide for possible shows in your area. It will happen. Any promoters, get in touch.

Thanks. And sorry for the delay. It shan't happen again...

Happy New Year from the Twicesters. In typical TOOT fashion, we're a bit belated, but never mind. Firstly, we're arranging a UK tour for April, so go to Gigs to keep up with the progress. Secondly, we've been talking to Anti-Maniax about playing Austria, along with the Czech Republic and Germany, so, if you're from these countries, can we kip at your gaff when we're passing through please? Thanks. Thirdly, we should, finally, be releasing a single in April, either 'The Adult Crash' or something brand new as we've got about 10 new songs ready, or on the go. It'll have unreleased b-sides whatever it is. What else? Just stuff. Hopefully we'll nail down a booking agent this year and stop having to fuck around with all that administrative bullshit because we just wanna play rock'n'roll. See you soon.

STOP PRESS!

We are really sorry but we won’t be playing the London Barfly gig with No Comply tonight (15/12/04) due to unforeseen circumstances. We will be back in the new year!

It's here at last. The official, near-perfect website. We just need to sort the Forum out and some Flash gubbins and we'll be flying. Huge thanks to Seb Jordan for this site. He's worked wonders with no cash incentive whatsoever. And thanks to Ant Smith for setting us up with a site in the first place.

On the band side of things, we head out on a bunch of dates with our city friends NoComply throughout December. See
Gigs for details. Andy has settled in brilliantly on bass as recent shows will attest. We've got a whole heap of new songs ready or in the making which we intend to put towards a new album for next summer/autumn, and still intend to release 'The Adult Crash' as a single in the new year.

Our tour with The Letters Organize has been thrown into jeopardy because they were refused entry into the UK! As a result, we've lost or had to cancel a lot of dates. Sorry. Everyone is gutted! Please see gigs for updates.

The album 'Special Moments To Detonate Themselves' eventually came out on 2nd August 2004 on In At The Deep End Records. We've had some great reviews (8/10 Rock Sound, 4/5 Big Cheese, 4/5 Punktastic, 5/5 Drowned In Sound , KKK Kerrang!, 5/5 Rancid News, 7/10 Metal Hammer). Drowned In Sound webzine hailed it as "the most viciously infectious album you'll buy all year, bar none" while Big Cheese said it was "aggressive, complex yet overwhelmingly accessible". We are inclined to agree.

We have now recruited perma-bleached tree-climber, Andy Mullin, as our permanent bassist/backing singer following his periods as stand-in over the last year. Much respect to our old plucker, Nick Western, for years of service and undeniably intricate bass- lines. All the best with The 24:7 City Blueprint.

The three dates with
Hell Is For Heroes at the beginning of August were cool – fucked voice and seismic snoring notwithstanding – especially the Cardiff Barfly show. Big shout to all the people who talked to us, bought the record and claimed that we restored their faith in rock'n'roll. We try our best.

Our October tour with USA's The Letters Organize is all set. It has been extended to three weeks now but we're only playing from the 1st to the 13th inclusive. We hope to re-unite with TLO and play the final show in Birmingham on the 19th. Hope you can all get along to the shows. We thought about putting out a single ('The Adult Crash' perhaps, with new b-sides) to coincide with the tour but we've left it a bit late. Who knows… Click on GIGS bar for dates and details.
